Testing our Drahthaar
Testing is a done through Verin Deutch Drahthaar-Group North America under JGHV rules and regulations. There is no other organization that test as extensive in performance and conformation and coat as our organization There are some qualification test such as VJP ( spring natural ability test) HZP ( fall natural ability test) Hardness test. X-ray tests include OCD, ED and HIPS. Also we must take our dog to a Breed show where we a get our dogs rated in form coat personality and demeanor We MUST qualify them through all of these it takes about two years in order to breed our dogs if our dog is gun or game shy fails in peformance test or certain tasks at the test, missing teeth, and other major faults, aggressive towards man or dogs they will be stamped UN-breed able. We only breed the best of the best. There are further test that we do to prove our soundness and true versatility.
WHY- Why do we test, there are so many reasons but manly we do this to improve the breed. We are striving to make a Drahthaar that will do ALL tasks in an expert manner. We also test so that breeder will know what we can do to improve and continue to produce better results. I find that most people look in to getting a drahthaar because that the puppy they get are coming from generations of tested ,measured, and selective breeding all regulated by this breed club. This ensures you the highest percentage 98% of getting a great hunting dog.
WHY SHOULD YOU TEST YOUR PUPPY- No matter the reason you own one or looking to get one. I promise you will train more and get a better result on your purchase of your new puppy. You will get closer to your dog and it will make you a better handler, trainer. You will also gain a community of people that are will to work with and help you. And also it help us breeders to improve and measure our breedings.

This test is the equivalent of a masters degree of the Drahthaar World. If you really want to know what a Drahthaar is and comes from you need to understand this test.
